The prequel/sequel to the 1999 hit "The Omega Code" is the story of the antichrist Stone Alexander (Michael York), who rises to power through murder and deception to gain control of the world. Only his brother (Michael Biehn) can stand in his way and try to make a difference. Excellent supporting cast Udo Kier, Greg Ellis, Diane Venora, Kent McCord and a cast of extras.
Strengths:
This is more of a remake to The Omega Code than a sequel. Compared to its its predecessor, OM2 has better acting, directing, and plot development. Casting is good, with veteran actors Michael York, Michael Biehn (The Magnificent Seven TV series), David Hedison (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea), and Kent McCord (Adam 12). R. Lee Ermey (known for his military roles) does an outstanding job portraying the (soon-to-be-assassinated) Commander-in-Chief.
Weaknesses:
Unlike the original, Omega Code 2 manages to take some fill-in-the-blank liberties with Biblical text, but not to the point of adulterizing it.
The Presidency of the United States is the most powerful position in the world. Still, seeing a church congregation view Michael Biehn as their Savior is a bit weird.
